The story and illustrations for these books series were created by students and faculty at the College of Menominee Nation, located on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wisconsin, with an urban campus in metropolitan Green Bay. The series is a product of CMN's STEM HERO Program which produces a variety of artifacts that illuminate the connections between STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and Menominee culture.

In Menominee tribal culture, Crane Clan members are architects and constructors. Cindy Crane hopes to win the remote-controlled boat race, as did her mother and grandfather before her. Then, during a practice run, a bully causes her to crash her boat and break its propeller. Cindy loves to fix things, but she’s never faced a problem like this. Will she be able to fix her propeller in time for the big race?
